Kintex (hereinafter called the ‘Company’) shall protect the personal information of the information user under Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act. In order to be able to handle related grievances promptly and smoothly, the following personal information processing guidelines are established and disclosed;

Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information)

Company shall process personal information for the following purposes. The personal information processed shall not be used for any purpose other than the following purposes. If the purpose of the use is changed, necessary measures must be taken, such as obtaining separate consent under Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

  • 1.Website membership and management
    • Personal information shall be handled for the purpose of confirming whether a person wishes to sign up for the membership, verifying the identity following the membership service provision, maintaining and managing the membership qualification, verifying the identity due to the implementation of a limited identity verification system, preventing the faulty use of the service, confirming consent of legal representatives when processing personal information of children under the age of 14, various announcement, notification, and complaint handling, etc.
  • 2.Provision of commodities or services
    • Personal information shall be handled to provide exhibition/convention services (booth participation, entry to the exhibition, etc.), provide content, provide customized services, verify the identity, verify age, make a payment of costs, settlement, etc.
  • 3.Grievance Procedure
    • Personal information shall be handled to verify the identity of the appealing person, check the complaint, contact and notify a person for examining facts, and notify the results of the processing.
  • 4.Use of marketing and advertising
    • Personal information shall be handled to provide new and customized services, provide event and advertising information and opportunities for participation, provide services and advertising based on demographic characteristics.
    • We may also contact the information recipient using the personal information for the promotion of commodities and services or solicitation of sales.
  • 5.Items and status of personal information collection
    • Items of personal information collection: name, company, department, title, country, address, mobile phone number, e-mail, residential area, login ID, password, survey results
    • Collection method: homepage, Kintex app, pre-registration on the homepage of the supervised exhibition, written form, on-and-offline event
    • Reason for retention: consent to the privacy policy when signing up for a membership

Article 2 (Handling of Personal Information and Retention Period)

  • 1.Company shall retain or use personal information under laws and regulations, or handle or retain personal information collected in the used period or agreed when collecting the personal information.
  • 2.The processing and the retention period of each personal information are as follows;
    • 1)Homepage membership and management
      : until withdrawing from the homepage. However, it will be due to the completion of relevant reasons if the following reasons are applicable;
      • If an investigation or inquiry is in the process due to violations of relevant laws and regulations, it will be due to the investigation's completion inquiry./li>
    • 2)Provision of commodities or services
      : Until the completion of the supply of the commodities and services and the completion of payment and settlement of charges provided. However, if the following reasons are applicable, it will be due to the completion of the relevant period.
      • Records on transactions such as advertising, contract details, and fulfillment under the "Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc."
        • Records on display and advertisements: 6 months
        • Records of withdrawing contract or subscription, making a payment, supplying commodities, and so on: 5 years
        • Records on consumer complaints or dispute handling: 3 years

Article 3 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Party)

  • 1.Company shall process the personal information of the information subject only within the scope specified in Article 1 (Purpose of Handling Personal Information). It may provide personal information to a third party in the case of Article 17 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as the consent of the information subject and special provisions of the law.

    • : A recipient of personal information: A party who hosts an exhibition/convention event using free/paid service of the Kintex App
      • Purpose of use of recipients' personal information: Free service of exhibition/convention, paid payment service, event co-host, marketing, advertisement, etc.
      • Items of personal information provided: name, company, department, title, country, address, mobile phone number, e-mail, residential area, login ID, password, survey results

Article 4 (Consignment of Personal Information Handling)

  • 1.Company shall entrust the task of personal information handling as follows for smooth personal information handling.
    • (Consignor): Kintex (Trustee): Design Oasis
    • Contents of entrusting work: Management of the Korea Climate and Meteorological Industry Exhibition website
    • Consignment period: At the end of the consignment contract
  • 2.When entering into a consignment contract, the Company shall comply with Article 25 of the Personal Information Protection Act and specify matters related to a prohibition of personal information handling other than performing the entrusted work, the technical and administrative protection measures, restrictions on re-consignment, management and supervision of the trustee, and the responsibility for compensation for damages, etc. It supervises the safe handling of personal information.
  • 3.If there are any changes in the contents of the consignment work and the trustee, the Company shall disclose it through this Privacy Policy without delay.

Article 5 (Rights and Obligations of the Information Subject and Methods of Exercising Information)

  • 1.The information subject may exercise your rights of personal information protection related to any of the following Clauses:
    • Request to view personal information
    • Request for correction in case of errors, etc.
    • Request for deletion
    • Request to suspend handling
  • 2.The exercise of rights under Paragraph 1 may be made in writing to the Company, by phone, e-mail, fax, etc. The Company shall take action without delay.
  • 3.If the information subject requests correction or deletion of errors in personal information, the Company shall not use or provide the personal information until the correction or deletion is completed.
  • 4.The exercise of rights under Paragraph 1 may be done through the legal representative of the information subject or through an agent such as a person who has been delegated. In this case, a power of attorney must be submitted following the document of Attachment 11 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Personal Information Protection Act.
  • 5.The information subject must not infringe on the personal information and privacy of the information subject or others handled by the Company by violating related laws such as the Personal Information Protection Act.
  • 6.The Company shall verify whether a person who has requested access under the information subject's rights, correction or deletion, or access to suspension of handling is the person him/herself or a representative agent.

Article 6 (Items of Personal Information to be Handled)

  • 1.Homepage/App membership and management
    • Required items: ID, password, e-mail, business registration number, company name, representative’s name (Korean/English), representative number, address (Korean/English), business sector
    • Optional items: employee (group), referring person (ID or name), survey
  • 2.Service provision
    • Required items: ID, name, mobile phone number, area classification
    • Optional items: employee (group), referring person (ID or name), survey, previous purchase history
  • 3.In using the Internet service, the following items of personal information may be automatically generated and collected.
    • IP address, cookies, MAC address, service use history, visit record, faulty use record, etc.

Article 7 (Destruction of Personal Information)

  • 1.The Company shall destroy the personal information without delay if it is not necessary anymore due to the expiration of the retention period of personal information or achievement of the handling purpose.
  • 2.If the retention period of the personal information agreed by the information subject is finished or if the personal information has to be continuously retained even after the achievement of the handling purpose, the relevant personal information shall be transferred to a separate database (DB) or stored in a different storage location.
  • 3.The procedure and method of destroying personal information are as follows;
    • Destruction procedure: The Company shall select the personal information of which the reason for destruction occurs and destroy the personal information with the approval of the Company's personal information protection manager.
    • Destruction method: To prevent the records from being reproduced, the Company shall destroy personal information recorded and stored in the form of electronic files using methods such as DB data deletion. And personal information recorded and stored in paper documents shall be destroyed by shredding or incineration.

Article 8 (Measures to Ensure the Safety of Personal Information)

The Company shall take the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information.

  • 1.Administrative measures: Establishment and implementation of internal management plans, regular employee training, etc.
  • 2.Technical measures: Management of access rights to personal information processing systems, access control, encryption of unique identification information, installation of security programs
  • 3.Physical measures: Access control of the computer room, data storage room, etc.

Article 9 (Matters regarding the Installation, Operation, and Rejection of Automatic Collection of Personal Information)

  • 1.The Company may use 'cookies' to store and retrieve information from time to time to provide customized services to users.
  • 2.Cookies are used by the server (http) to operate the website. It is a small amount of information sent to the user's computer browser and is also stored on the hard disk within the user's PC.
    • Purpose of use of Cookies: They are used to provide optimized information to users by identifying the type of visit and use of each service and website visited, popular search terms, security access, etc.
    • Installation, operation, and rejection of Cookies: Tools on the top of the web browser > Internet options> Reject to store Cookies by setting options in the personal information menu
    • If you refuse to store Cookies, you may experience difficulties in using customized services.

  • 2.The information subject may contact the Personal Information Division regarding all personal information protection inquiries, complaint handling, and damage relief that have occurred while using the Company's services (or business). The Company will respond to and handle inquiries from the information subject without delay.

Article 11 (Request for Access to Personal Information)

  • An information subject may make a request for inspection of personal information under Article 35 of the Personal Information Protection Act to the following division. The Company will do its best so that the request for inspection of the information subject’s personal information shall be handled promptly.

Article 13. (Installation and Operation of Image Information Processing System)

  • 1. KINTEX installs and operates the image information processing system as follows;
    • Grounds and purpose of installation of the image information processing system: Facility safety and fire prevention
    • Number of installations, installation location, and shooting range: installed in the main facilities such as the exhibition hall's lobby and exhibition hall. The shooting range is taken over the entire space of the main facilities.

    • Recording time of video information, storage period, storage location, processing method
      • Recording time: 24 hours of recording
      • Storage location and processing method: Storage and processing in the control room of the image information processing system리
    • How and where to check video information: Facility Operation Team
    • Measure to the request of the data subject to view video information, etc.: He/She shall apply from a bill of viewing the personal video information or confirming whether or not it exists. Only when the information subject is photographed, or the personal information requested to view is necessary for the benefit of the data subject's life, body, and property, viewing shall be allowed.
    • Technical, administrative, and physical measures to protect image information: establish an internal management plan, control access and restrict access rights, apply safe storage and transmission technology for image information, store processing records, and take measures to prevent forgery and alteration, and prepare storage facilities and install locking devices

Article 14 (Change of Personal Information Processing Policy)

  • This Privacy Policy is effective from November 30, 2020.
